Don’t Tango On My Heart

When I posted “Desire Me” by the Doll at the beginning of last month I didn’t expect such massive interest in the band from all of you. In keeping with the idea of giving the people what they want, I decided that it was time to introduce you all to their debut single “Don’t Tango on My Heart”. I can’t give you any further info regarding the band, but I can suggest that you crack open this single for the awesome track “Trash” on the B-side. It’s a blistering re-recording of their opening track on the legendary Streets compilation album. Well worth a couple of minutes of your time to investigate.

Desire Me Now

The Doll were a punk rock/new wave band formed in London in October 1977. They were signed by Beggars Banquet Records, who included their track "Trash" on the Streets compilation. They hit the UK Singles Chart with their second single, "Desire Me", which spent eight weeks on the chart in January 1979, and led to the band appearing on Top of the Pops. Singer Valentine became the unintended focus of attention from the press as a result, making her a 'punk sex symbol'. Not heaping too much pressure onto a young band and following a line-up shuffle, The Doll released their debut album over a year later and subsequently split following poor sales.
