Chelsea - Alternative Hits

Released in September 1980 by Step Forward Records, Alternative Hits (titled No Escape in the United States) is a seminal compilation album by the British punk rock band Chelsea. Fronted by vocalist Gene October, the album rounds up the band's essential early 7-inch singles and B-sides, providing a definitive overview of their raw, melodic 1970s sound. It features their legendary 1977 debut anthem "Right to Work," alongside standout tracks like "Urban Kids" and a cover of The Seeds' "No Escape." Highly regarded by collectors and fans alike, it serves as a crucial document of the first wave of British punk rock.

Released on 29 June 1979 via Step-Forward Records, Chelsea is the self-titled debut album by the pioneering British punk rock band, featuring vocalist Gene October and a defining five-piece lineup. Recorded at Surrey Sound Studios, the 10-track LP is recognized as a staple of first-wave UK punk, combining aggressive guitar work with social commentary while opting for new material over earlier singles, a choice addressed in later expanded reissues.
